For Overwhelm, Burnout & ADHD-Related Challenges

Psychology-informed coaching support for adults across Glasgow, Scotland, and online throughout the UK who are experiencing overwhelm, burnout, executive functioning difficulties, anxiety, emotional exhaustion, or ADHD-related challenges.

Often the problem is not a lack of intelligence, motivation, insight, or potential.

Sometimes it’s exhaustion.
Overwhelm.
Burnout.
Constant overthinking.
Feeling emotionally depleted from trying to hold everything together for too long.

Many of the people I work with appear highly capable on the outside, yet internally feel overwhelmed, scattered, emotionally exhausted, self-critical, disconnected from themselves, or frustrated that life feels harder than it “should”.

Some people may be navigating ADHD-related challenges or questioning whether ADHD could help explain lifelong patterns they have struggled with.

Others may simply recognise themselves in experiences such as chronic overwhelm, perfectionism, executive functioning difficulties, emotional exhaustion, people-pleasing, procrastination, or constantly feeling as though they are trying harder than everyone else just to keep up.

At Dr Stone Elevate, coaching psychology support is designed to help people better understand themselves, work with their brain rather than against it, and create more sustainable ways of living, working, coping, and moving forward.

What Is Coaching Psychology?

Coaching Psychology combines evidence-based psychological knowledge with practical coaching approaches that support meaningful personal and professional growth.

Unlike generic life coaching, coaching psychology draws upon psychological theory, behavioural science, emotional understanding, motivation research, and evidence-based models of change to support deeper and more sustainable progress. Coaching psychology can support both personal wellbeing and professional functioning.

As a Chartered Counselling & Coaching Psychologist, HCPC-registered Practitioner Psychologist, and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, I integrate coaching psychology with over 17 years of experience across psychological services, trauma-informed work, organisational wellbeing, frontline support services, higher education, and private practice.

This allows sessions to go beyond surface-level motivation or productivity strategies alone.

Instead, the focus is on understanding:

  • what may be contributing to feeling stuck
  • why certain patterns keep repeating
  • how overwhelm impacts motivation and functioning
  • how self-criticism and perfectionism affect wellbeing
  • how executive functioning difficulties may show up in everyday life
  • how to create realistic, compassionate, sustainable change

ADHD - Informed Coaching Support

Many people reach a point where they begin questioning whether ADHD, executive functioning difficulties, chronic overwhelm, burnout, or emotional exhaustion may be affecting their daily life more than they realised.

For some, this may follow a recent ADHD diagnosis. Others may be exploring whether ADHD could help explain lifelong patterns they have struggled with. And many people simply recognise themselves in experiences such as overwhelm, procrastination, masking, mental exhaustion, emotional intensity, perfectionism, or constantly feeling as though they are trying harder than everyone else just to keep up.

You do not need to have a formal ADHD diagnosis to benefit from ADHD-informed coaching support.

In reality, ADHD remains significantly underdiagnosed, particularly in adults, women, and individuals who have become highly skilled at masking or overcompensating. Accessing assessment and ongoing support can also feel confusing, inaccessible, or overwhelming, with many people facing long waiting lists and limited post-diagnostic support options.

While medication can be an important part of support for some individuals, many people are left without the wider psychological understanding, practical strategies, emotional support, and compassionate scaffolding needed to navigate everyday life more sustainably.

ADHD-informed coaching support aims to help bridge that gap.

This support is not about “fixing” you or forcing unrealistic productivity.

It is about helping you better understand how your mind works, recognising patterns with compassion rather than shame, and developing practical, sustainable ways of working with yourself rather than constantly against yourself.

This may include support with:

  • Burnout and emotional exhaustion
  • Overwhelm and anxiety
  • Perfectionism and self-criticism
  • Executive functioning difficulties
  • Procrastination and avoidance
  • Emotional regulation
  • Routines and consistency
  • Confidence and self-trust
  • Motivation and follow-through
  • Work-life balance
  • People-pleasing and masking
  • Self-understanding and self-compassion
  • Life transitions and personal growth

Dr Stone’s Approach

My approach is compassionate, collaborative, psychologically informed, and grounded in real life.

I understand that many people seeking support are already exhausted from trying to “push through,” hold everything together, or meet impossible expectations of themselves.

Alongside my professional experience, I also bring personal understanding of ADHD and neurodivergent experiences, both through my own lived experience and through supporting close family members with ADHD.

I understand firsthand how exhausting it can feel to constantly overcompensate, overthink, mask difficulties, push through overwhelm, or feel frustrated by patterns that other people may not fully see or understand.

I believe this combination of professional expertise and lived understanding allows me to offer support that feels both psychologically informed and genuinely compassionate, practical, and grounded in real life.

As both a Chartered Counselling & Coaching Psychologist, I bring experience from both coaching psychology and therapeutic psychology perspectives. This means I can help people think more carefully about what type of support may be most appropriate for their needs, goals, and circumstances.

For some people, coaching psychology may be the best fit. For others, therapy may be more appropriate. And for many, there can be understandable uncertainty around where those boundaries sit.

Where appropriate, I can help guide people through that process and discuss what type of support may be most beneficial. While I currently offer only a small amount of therapy availability within private practice, I can also support people in identifying appropriate onward referrals where needed.

Rather than using rigid one-size-fits-all approaches, sessions are tailored to each person’s individual goals, strengths, personality, challenges, and circumstances.

My work integrates evidence-based approaches including:

  • Coaching Psychology
  • Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Compassion-Focused approaches
  • Cognitive Behavioural approaches (CBT)
  • Mindfulness-informed strategies
  • Motivational Interviewing
  • Behavioural and emotional regulation strategies
